Another close to the month, another list of new beauty favourites.
Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Bronzer in I$land Ting
Sooo… Fenty Beauty makes a lot of appearances on this blog o’ mine. I know. But listen, if it works, it works.
The Sun Stalk’r is one of the best bronzer formulas I’ve ever used. It’s buttery smooth and blends so effortlessly. The shade I$land Ting is not only fun to say, but is such a gorgeous colour on my skin. It lifts my face immediately with its sun-kissed warmth. For shade reference, I’m a MAC NC42/Fenty 310.
I was torn between the shade I$land Ting and Bajan Gyal when I swatched them in stores. Bajan Gyal has a lot more red in it, which I thought would be pretty to double up as a blush/bronzer… but I went with I$land Ting. It’s described as a medium with neutral undertones, but it still comes off warm on me.
Also the packaging is ridiculously gorgeous. The signature honeycomb pattern with a reflective, mirror-ed bronze finish. Classy.
NARS Fever Dream Palette in Wild Thing
If you haven’t read my full review on this palette, click here. This is currently my favourite palette to travel with.
I was stoked at how beautifully this pairs with the Fenty bronzer. Sometimes I want a more no-makeup, makeup look effect, I would pull in the bronzer over my cheeks, and pop the coral in the palette just on the top of my cheekbones. This gives just a pop of coloured sheen.
Dior Backstage Foundation in shade 3W
I’ve been using this for less than a month and I think it’s just about become my favourite foundation of all time. I don’t like most foundations. I like the end result, for sure, but I hate the painstaking process of blending and making it look right. I don’t have to do that with this foundation.
It’s STUPIDLY EASY to use and blend out into the skin. It’s a light to medium coverage foundation, enough to cover up redness. The finish is a beautiful soft matte that I don’t have to set, but it looks very natural and skin-like. It feels like nothing too. It felt like I was applying serum on my skin. It also comes in the most travel-friendly bottle.
Keep a lookout for my full review of this soon.
Merrez’ca Made My Lip
I promised a full brand review of Merrez’ca (at the previous monthly faves post..). But then I came across their counter again in a recent trip to Bangkok and they had a lot of new stuff. That I purchased. That post will come soon and updated.
Made My Lip is one of their newer releases. It’s a lipstick tint with a velvety soft matte finish. I got the shade Rose Wood, a sophisticated brick red shade that’s very flattering.
I’m mad that they’re not easily available outside of Thailand. They have a strong presence on Facebook and Instagram, and I can personally attest to the quality of their products. A quick scroll through their socials and I have aesthetics envy.
Merrez’ca Blush Sticks
I’ve been loving cream blushes over powder ones lately so when I saw these new blush sticks from Merrez’ca, I had to get them too. Blush sticks generally blend out easily and these are no different. I got two shades: Dusty Rose and Maroon. Maroon is… no maroon, it’s more a pretty coral nude shade. Dusty Rose is similar to Maroon, with more pink in the coral. Both very pretty.
Again, full review with swatches coming up real soon.
Peripera Ink Airy Velvet Lip Tint
When one of my girlfriends were vacationing in Korea, I had to ask her to get me some Peripera lip tints. The Airy Velvet tints are a soft matte formula. They don’t tint as well as the glossy, liquid ones, but heck they’re a lot more flattering. I also love using them as cream blush as well. Since they do tint, they have a more lasting effect on skin that traditional cream blushes. Peripera recently introduced new packaging alongside some new shades.
I got the shade: #05 Genius Rosy Pink. It’s a pretty, MLBB pink.
Peripera Sugar Jelly Tint
I also had to get the new Peripera Sugar Jelly Tints. The Sugar Tint line is the more traditional, shiny glossy Korean lip tint. I find Peripera’s version, Sugar Glow, a lot less drying than others in the market.
I do prefer Sugar Jelly to Sugar Glow. Sugar Jelly has a thicker, more opaque texture compared to Glow. I also find the tint applies more evenly on my lips. I feel like it might be a tad more hydrating than Glow too. I got the shade #3 Calm Pink, which is yet another MLBB rosy pink shade.
