Wrap up mornings in style! Discover the simplicity of this easy Breakfast Wrap, using convenient frozen prata and all done in one pan. Quick, delicious, and totally customizable.
In this post, I’ve got a breakfast recipe that’s not only quick and easy but will also have your taste buds doing a happy dance. This is inspired by the viral Tiktok tortilla breakfast wraps, but I switched it up with frozen prata or paratha instead! Introducing the One-Pan Prata Breakfast Wrap – a fun, mouthwatering masterpiece that’s a breeze to whip up and a joy to devour.
Why You’ll Love this Prata Breakfast Wrap
- Speedy Start to Your Day: With frozen prata as the star, this breakfast wrap is ready in a snap! Keep this simple and you can have a delicious breakfast or snack in just 10 minutes.
- One Pan Wonder: Minimal cleanup! This recipe unfolds in a single pan, making it a win-win for your taste buds and your sanity.
- Customizable to Your Cravings: The beauty of this breakfast wrap lies in its versatility. Tailor it to your liking with a variety of toppings and fillings.
Key Ingredients for Prata Breakfast Wraps
- Frozen Prata/Paratha: A convenient base that crisps up beautifully for the perfect wrap. Frozen pratas are ready-to-cook straight out of the freezer, cutting out any defrosting time. Alternatively, this recipe will also work with tortillas or frozen capatti/chapatis.
- Egg: Egg whisked with salt and pepper to taste for the easy omelette. I added optional chopped onions for extra flavour.
Toppings or Fillings
This is SO versatile and customisable that you can add any topping you enjoy!
- Beef Bacon:Adds a savory punch to kickstart your day.
- Cheese (handful, shredded): Melts into gooey goodness.
- Chilli Oil: Spice things up with a drizzle for an extra flavour kick.
- Avocado: Creamy goodness that complements the other textures.
- Cilantro: For a burst of freshness.
Options for Toppings or Fillings:
- Veggie Delight: Sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers before the omelette, for a wholesome veggie option.
- Protein Power: Experiment with grilled chicken, turkey, or smoked salmon, canned tuna for an extra protein boost.
Key Steps to Making Prata Breakfast Wraps
1. Cook Prata
Heat frozen prata until golden brown, set aside. Most frozen pratas do not require defrosting. Pan fry on a dry pan for 2 minutes on each side until crisp and remove from the pan, or follow instructions on the packaging.
2. Pan fry Bacon
If using bacon, add oil to the same pan, and cook beef bacon (or protein of choice) to crisp preference, and remove from the pan.
3. Egg-cellent Omelette
Whisk egg with salt and pepper, to taste. Option to add a teaspoon of chopped onions or onion paste.
Pour into the same pan, and give a quick pan swirl to spread the egg mixture into an omelette.
4. Prata Reunion and Cheese Melt
While the top of the omelette is still raw, immediately top with the cooked prata. Gently press with a spatula so the prata sticks to the omelette. Sprinkle cheese, and let it melt. Option to cover with a lid, so cheese melts quicker. Remove from pan.
5. Add Toppings!
Spread chilli oil, and top with sliced avocado, bacon and chopped cilantro.
6. Fold and Feast on Prata Breakfast Wraps
Fold the prata in half twice, so you end up with a quarter wrap. Serve and enjoy!
Make-Ahead and Storage
- Prep Ahead: You can prepare the breakfast wrap in advance! Wrap in baking paper or aluminium foil and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, air fry, pan fry or toast. I would recommend leaving out the avocado if you are planning to reheat. Add the avocado after reheating.
- Storage Tips: Wrap the breakfast creation in foil for on-the-go goodness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge – just reheat in the pan for a quick and tasty breakfast the next day.
